Fuel Surcharge
OMT uses a fuel surcharge to keep our base fares predictable while fuel prices fluctuate. We track the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s weekly average prices for our region (PADD 1C – Lower Atlantic) for both gasoline and diesel. When those averages rise materially above our internal baseline, we add a small, transparent surcharge to recover a portion of the increased fuel expense. It appears as a separate line item on quotes and invoices, applies to the appropriate vehicle type (gasoline for our gas bus, diesel for our diesel bus), and is removed automatically when prices fall back to or below baseline. This approach lets us maintain fair, stable pricing while covering real-world operating costs during periods of volatility.
